Writing in any Mac app

Improve selected writing in almost any Mac app

Check a message, document or browser field where you wrote it — then decide whether to replace the text or keep reviewing.

Examples include Mail, Slack, Notion, Word, Pages and browser-based writing tools.

Start with a selection

Recorrect Typing uses macOS Accessibility when an app exposes the text you have selected.

Use a practical fallback

For apps that do not share their selection, it can work through the clipboard and restore it afterwards.

Keep control of replacement

Review the result before you replace text, or copy it yourself when that fits the app better.

Stay in the app where the work happens

The same small workflow applies to messages, documents and browser fields.

  1. Highlight your writing

Select the words you want to improve in the app you are already using.

  2. Run a check

Press the shortcut to ask Recorrect Typing for a correction or rewrite.

  3. Review or replace

Accept the result when it fits, or keep your original and decide what to change.

One workflow, many writing surfaces

No need to shuttle text to a separate editor

Whether you are replying in Mail, drafting in Pages or writing in a browser, selected text can stay close to its original context while you improve it.

  • Use macOS Accessibility for selectable text where it is available
  • Fall back to the clipboard when an app does not expose a selection
  • Choose whether to replace the original text after review
