Open the download
Open the downloaded file and drag Recorrect Typing into your Applications folder.

Launch the app
Open it from Applications. It lives in your menu bar, not in the Dock.

Allow Accessibility
macOS asks for permission so Recorrect can read and replace the text you select.

Sign in and pick languages
Sign in with your email, then choose your writing and explanation languages.

Try it
Select any text and press ⌥ ⇧ E.⌥⇧E
Permission guide
Turning on Accessibility
Recorrect Typing needs Accessibility permission to read the text you select and to replace it with the correction when you ask. It only reads what you select, when you press the shortcut.
- 1Open System Settings, then choose Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
- 2Turn on the switch next to Recorrect Typing. macOS may ask for your password or Touch ID.
- 3Already on but nothing happens? Turn the switch off and on again, or remove the app with the − button and add it back.
Tip: the app can open this page for you from its onboarding screen.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I press the shortcut
Check that Accessibility is turned on for Recorrect Typing and that no other app uses the same shortcut. You can pick a different shortcut in Settings.
It can't read text in a particular app
Some apps don't share their text with macOS. Recorrect then copies the selection through the clipboard and restores your clipboard right after. Make sure the clipboard fallback is on in Settings.
The downloaded app won't open
Make sure your Mac runs macOS 13 or later. If macOS says the app can't be verified, download it again from this page.
